You will be picked by our driver from your city hotel or your preferred pick up point at the designated time for departure. You will head straight to the Giraffe centre next to the Giraffe Manor Hotel. The giraffe centre started as a breeding centre for giraffes with an initial count of 130 giraffes. The number has grown to a sizeable 500 giraffes. It was founded in 1979 by the late Jock Leslie –Melville together with his wife. Hand feeding the giraffes in the park will be our main activity in the Giraffe Center while watching the warthogs roam freely with the giraffes in the wild.
After the Giraffe centre’s activity, we shall proceed to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in the Nairobi National Park 17 Kilometers off Magadi Road. It was founded in 1979 by Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick and it among the best elephant orphanages in the world. This orphanage plays a great role in Kenya’s Wildlife Conservancy with its efforts in saving Rhinos and elephants. The elephants and rhinos in the orphanage are mostly aged between 3 months – 3 years and visitation is only allowed for one hour between 1200 pm – 1:00 pm. You can adopt an elephant while at it in the Orphanage.
Our last stop of the day will be at the Karen Blixen Museum located at the foot of Ngong Hills. It was a farm that was converted into a museum by Danish Author Karen Blixen and her husband. After this, we may offer a visit to the Kazuri Beads Factory around Karen where you can get some handmade African Ornaments and jewellery. After here, we will offer you transport back to your city hotel.
